Bible Study 1-Genesis 1

First of all, the earliest time that we can approximate accuracy is the time of Abraham:
There are 5 major theories concerning creation:
1. Pictorial day theory- these theories claims that the six days mentioned in genesis are the six days in which God revealed to Moses the six days of Creation. However, the Bible relates the account of creation as clearly as it does other historical events. To ascribe to this theory, you would have to abandon certain other explanatory principals.
2. The gap view- this believes that genesis 1:1 describes an original creation which was followed by the fall of Satan and great judgment. Genesis 1:2 is then supposed to be a description of a re-creation that took place.
Now the problem with this is that Exodus 20:11: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.
Clearly states the universe, including the heavens and the earth were created in the 6-day period mentioned in Genesis.
3.Intermittent Day View: believes the 6 days mentioned are literal days but are       separated by long periods of time. Unless all the creative activity is limited to the literal days this view directly contradicts Exodus 20:11.
3. The day-age theory-claims that the word from which is the Hebrew word for day is used to refer to periods of indefinite length, not literal days. While this is an accepted meaning of the word it is not the common meaning found in scriptures.
4. The literal day theory- this accepts the clear meaning of the Biblical text-the universe was created in 6 literal days.
There have been various attempts to join the Biblical account of creation and evolution and it is not supportable even by various gap theories that are floated around for one VERY significant reason:
The order of Creation is in direct opposition to the views of modern science.
Example: the creation of trees before the creation of light.
The phrase evening and morning in Genesis 1:5 indicates literal days.
To cross reference take Daniel 8:14:  And he said unto me, unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
In this verse it is the same Hebrew word for day as in Genesis YOM
When one acknowledges the absolute power of God they must accept His power and authority to create and destroy as stated in the scriptures, these are things we must accept by faith knowing that the Lord’s power is not finite and stretches far beyond our finite minds.
Genesis 1:2 the earth was without form, void.
What does this mean, it means empty, however a more accurate translation would be “unformed and unfilled.”
Darkness was upon the face of the deep so no light had been created yet so the earth was dark, unformed and unfilled, basically a blank canvas for the master artist and Creator to come in and fill, Almighty God whose Creativity and Imagination knows no bounds.
Genesis 1:2 and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep
Moved in Hebrew: râchaph raw-khaf’; a primitive root; to brood; by implication, to be relaxed:
KJV: translated to flutter, move or shake
This word rachaph appears only 3 times total in the old testament
First: Genesis 1:2: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved (H7363) upon the face of the waters.
Second: Deuteronomy 32:11 As an eagle stirred up her nest, flutters (H7363) over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, bears them on her wings:
Third: Jeremiah 23:9 My heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake (H7363); I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

So it may be reasonable to conclude the Spirit of the Lord was moving over the waters in a wavy up and down, side to side type of motion.
Compare the movement of the Spirit of God to this: shake, energy, bent, squeezed, ripples, waves, twisted, microwaves, curled waves, jittering, and energy fields. Those are the descriptive for quantum fields we saw above. Sounds a lot like fluttering and shaking, in fact, shake is used both in the Bible and in articles having to do with quantum physics and to shake around, new energy space, this bent and squeezed space-time, creating ripples known as gravitational waves that also twisted the radiation that passed through the universe. Background microwave radiation, characteristic twisted or curled waves called the B-mode pattern. An intense jittering in the energy field.

In Hebrew God is Elohim and the Word Created is Bara = God Created
Vs 5 and God called the light day and the Darkness Night and there was evening and there was morning the first day- the first day the Lord on the very first day of creation is making a VERY clear distinction, making it black and white so there is no discrepancy, light/darkness
Now let us get into the issue of what is FIRMAMENT:

The word "firmament" is used to translate Shamayim (שָׁמַיִם) or rāqîaʿ (רָקִ֫יעַ), a word used in Biblical Hebrew. Shamayim is translated as "heaven". Rāqîa is derived from the root raqqəʿ (רָקַע), meaning "to beat or spread out thinly", e.g., the process of making a dish by hammering thin a lump of metal.
Like most ancient peoples, the Hebrews believed the sky was a solid dome with the Sun, Moon, planets and stars embedded in it.[7] According to The Jewish Encyclopedia:
The Hebrews regarded the earth as a plain or a hill figured like a hemisphere, swimming on water. Over this is arched the solid vault of heaven. To this vault are fastened the lights, the stars. So slight is this elevation that birds may rise to it and fly along its expanse.[8]
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also."
(Genesis 1:14-16 KJV).
This verse says that the Sun, Moon, and Stars are "in" the firmament. Therefore, applying the rules of grammar and logic, those waters that are "above the firmament" must therefore be above the Sun, Moon and Stars. In other words, those particular waters are ABOVE the visible cosmos. For some this is a hard pill to swallow, but that is exactly what the Bible is saying.
"Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that [be] above the heavens."
(Psalms 148:4 KJV).
On the second day of the creation, the Lord God "divided" the waters (plural) of the great "deep" into two (2) parts, with a "firmament" in the midst. According to Genesis 1:10, both the waters that were upon the face of the Earth and the waters which He placed above the firmament He called "Seas":
"And God called the dry [land] Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called the Seas: and God saw that [it was] good."

the waters on the Earth are called "Seas" in the Bible, but there is also another "Sea" that is spoken of in the Scriptures and that one is above the firmament. But where is "ABOVE" the firmament? (it’s a valid question) In Genesis, during creation, the Lord God defined Three (3) heavens. The first heaven is the Earth's atmosphere:
"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." Genesis 1:20.
The second heaven is the vast expanse of the physical universe - outer space as we call it:
"And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"

These two heavens constitute an expanse called the "firmament," and this firmament collectively is referred to as "Heaven":
"And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."
(Gen 1:8 KJV).
The Third Heaven is above this upper "Sea," and this higher sea is below the Throne of God:
John witnessed this and wrote about it in Revelation:
"And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind."
(Revelation 4:6 KJV).
This particular "Sea" is above the firmament (the known physical universe). It represents a firm and impassable barrier between the world of man (below) and the world of God (above).
Vs 11 and 12 of chapter 1 “whose seed is in itself” the ability to reproduce for plants, trees, fruits was brilliantly put within itself, the seeds kept safe until the time to plant them has come.
Genesis 1:16-17:
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.
Vs 17 set them IN the firmament that area we just spoke of that made a clear division between heaven and earth the lights and the stars were set in the firmament.
Genesis 1:20-21
Literal Hebrew translation:
Genesis 1:20-21
And Elohim said, “Let the-waters swarm [with] living creatures. And let flying creatures soar above the earth across the expanse of the skies”. So Elohim created the great sea monsters, and every creeping living thing that swarms [in] the water according to its kind, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. Genesis 1:25- the Lord speaks the Beasts of the earth into existence as well Hebrew BARA = created

Genesis 1:26
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that crepes upon the earth."
Here the Lord uses a Hebrew Word ENU which is plural.
One theory is that the Lord is speaking Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Second theory: self-exhortation or self-encouragement, meaning He is referring only to Himself. This would also be referred to as "the royal 'we,'" something we see used by human kings and rulers when making proclamations or decrees. (Bibleref.com).
The image and likeness must necessarily be intellectual; his mind, his soul, must have been formed after the nature of God. The human mind has been endowed with the most extraordinary capacities; it was. God, in this verse, was now producing a spirit, and a spirit, too, formed after the perfections of his own nature. God is the fountain whence this spirit issued, so then the stream must resemble the spring which produced it. God is Holy, just, wise, good, and perfect; so, must the soul be that sprang from him: there could be in it nothing impure because the blueprint was coming from Almighty God.
And then man was put over, given dominion, over the fish of the sea, the beasts of the field, the birds of the air.

Colossians 1:16:
For [a]by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him.
